What to expect
Drawing from their ongoing research and duo performance practice, the artists will introduce collaborative musical approaches and creative structures designed to support both deep connection and expansive vocal freedom.
Exploratory highlights for practice:
- Using structured vocal elements as another gateway into music
- Consonance and dissonance
- Creativity in the use of invented language and the voice as an instrument
- Freer approaches to rhythm, including some polymeters and polyrhythms
- Developing patterns in different directions to create more flexible supporting parts
For larger ensemble work:
- Voice and body as instruments that express and maintain rhythm, melody, structure, and emotion
- Developing musical and interpersonal skills in the service of collective well-being
- Invented language and the unifying and transformative power of the word
- Coming together in the here and now, as well as remembering, amplifying, and honoring our musical and cultural roots
The experience is open to professional and amateur singers.
Captivating for experienced singers and welcoming for those who practice vocal improvisation and want to deepen their knowledge.
The workshop will be in english with the possibility to have an italian translation.
