A Vocal Exploration in Sound: a spontaneous jam facilitated by Berklee Faculty & Bobby McFerrin's Circlesong School Alumn Vivienne Aerts

Hope to see you at our next in-person event in Brooklyn. We will begin with introductory and intermediate games and exercises that bring ease and joy to collaborative improvisation, followed by immersing ourselves in circlesinging.

This session will be facilitated by Vivienne Aerts.

ABOUT CIRCLESONGS

Ciclesongs is a spontaneous vocal jam, an immersion in sound, creativity, and community through group singing, involving improvisation and collaboration. Developed by American vocalist Bobby McFerrin, this technique challenges participants to sing, invent, and explore. Circlesongs create spontaneous vocal compositions in a circle, with each individual contributing unique vocalizations, rhythms, melodies, harmonies, and invented languages.

ABOUT VIVIENNE AERTS

I am a Dutch New York-based vocalist, composer, producer and conductor with a focus on electronics, chocolate, and multi-sensory experience design as well as a clinical psychologist and faculty at Berklee College of Music in Boston where I have been instrumental in building a new generation of performers who are not only skilled musicians but also mentally and physically healthy individuals. I studied choir directing at the Inholland Conservatory and studied vocal improvisation at Bobby Mcferrin’s Circlesong School.
