Circlesongs: Musical Foundations
with Gaël Aubrit
Two days to resonate together — and above all to (begin to) develop the essential skills needed for circlesong improvisation and for music in general!
Everyone is welcome, regardless of level or experience in music, singing, or improvisation. The focus will be on collective work, in an atmosphere that is both demanding and supportive, interspersed with playful moments and opportunities to let go.
The program includes work on polyphony, vocal comfort, sense of meter and pulse, harmonic listening, and volume control. For each of these areas, concrete tools and practice pathways will be provided, so that participants can continue progressing after the workshop.
This workshop is particularly suited to people who do not necessarily have strong musical ambitions but wish to experience an intensive workshop, as well as to those with vocal, rhythmic, or harmonic fragilities, with the aim of developing the skills required to later join more in-depth workshops. It is also open to more advanced participants who would like to observe, from a pedagogical perspective, how to approach the musical foundations of circlesong improvisation.
