The Musical Body Autumn Camp
April 10–17, 2026 | Newham, Macedon Ranges (VIC)
On Wurundjeri and Taungurung land
A week-long, small-group residential immersion exploring the space between life and music. Through vocal improvisation, movement, rhythm, and emergent co-creative ritual, we deepen our capacity for responsive ensemble singing and embodied presence. This camp is for shower singers, experienced improvisers, artists, facilitators, teachers, and anyone curious about voice and body in a creative, supportive community. The focus is growth as vocal improvisers in relationship — building music from listening, awareness, spontaneity, and shared attention. Participants explore embodied voice and rhythm, movement-based vocal improvisation, co-creative and emergent musical forms, and reflection, stillness, and relational awareness. Moments of immersion or heightened sensation may arise through rhythm and layered voice as part of creative flow and ensemble connection. A core thread is The Musical Body Process — a small-group practice unfolding across the week through shared improvisations and emergent ritual structures. The structure includes a full-week residential commitment with 4–8 participants, shared meals and contribution to daily tasks, and morning and evening sessions. Charlotte’s 3-year-old son, Henry, will be present in aspects of the camp. Accommodation options include a shared house room (sleeping only) or basic camping. Facilitators: Charlotte Roberts, vocal artist and creator of The Musical Body Process, and Moe Clark (she/they), Métis multidisciplinary artist, vocalist, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
