Enabling Singing Villages November 2026: Training for Vocal Leaders

Throughout the training, a group of singers and song leaders will have the chance to explore together and deepen different forms and models of collaborative vocal improvisation, including circlesinging.

There will be diverse exercises and games in the areas of human connection, rhythm, melody, invented language, harmony and vocality. We will explore circlesinging and other collective improv forms, as well as connect with our deep well of creativity and our unique musicality.

My vision is to inspire leaders, musicians, choir leaders, therapists, and facilitators to weave spontaneous singing into their own work, and expand the reach of this powerful tool for human connection, wellbeing and potentially the transformation of our relationship with ourselves, with each other and the planet with all its life forms.

Elements of the programme:

Bringing people together and into an open state. Flows and games - presence, connection, collectivity.

The Singing Village Pedagogy: essential, transcultural foms of spontaneous singing offering different ways to share aliveness and deepen relationships, celebrating every voice.

The voices within: characters and archetypes as a way to expand our vocal and expressive palette.

Sonic landscapes: timbre, noise , texture and atmosphere - singing within the fabric of Life.

Circlesinging. Learning from participants, making efficient patterns, conducting, flexibility, form, song architecture…

CVI listening- space- my vocal identity and style- invented language- body, rhythm and sound- models and forms

Learning to read the skill level of participant: a healthy balance between comfort zone and challenge. Adapting Vocal Improvisation for community settings.

Conducting: roles- gestures. Encouraging, proposing, directing, leaving space. Giving feedback and inspiring change in participants.

The facilitator’s inner state - personal awareness and good housekeeping. Feeling, sensing, body techniques.
